Your baby is born with a sucking reflex, and this is what they will initially use when it comes to feeding.
The other reflex your baby has is an extrusion reflex. This is when they'll push any food placed on their tongue out the front of their mouth
So if your baby pushes the food they’re offered out with their tongue, it is not that they don't like it. This is normal and just means they are not ready for food as this reflex generally means babies don't know how to swallow it yet. It usually disappears around six months of age, and it’s from this point that you can look at giving your baby their first solid foods.
