Apple Sweet Potato and Mango Chicken Puree

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 small chicken breast fillet, cut into 2cm dice
  • ½ zucchini, chopped
  • 2 broccoli florets, chopped
  • 1x 120g pouch Heinz® Apple Sweet Potato & Mango
  • 3-4 tbsp Farex® Baby Rice Cereal

Method

Step 1

Combine chicken, zucchini and broccoli in a small saucepan. Add enough water (approx. 300ml) to just cover chicken and vegetables. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 6-8 minutes or until chicken is cooked and vegetables are tender. Cool slightly.

Step 2

Using a handheld blender or food processor, puree chicken and vegetables until a smooth consistency is achieved. Stir in HEINZ® pouch and Farex® rice cereal. Mix well.

Step 3

Use a portion to feed baby, then refrigerate remainder for another meal, or freeze in portions for later use.
Tip
Adjust consistency by increasing or reducing rice cereal.
Alternate vegetables can be used, depending what you have available or what your baby prefers. Try carrot, pumpkin or parsnip.
You could use 3-4 florets of broccoli in recipe and omit zucchini if desired. Or use 1 zucchini and omit the broccoli also.
