Christmas Dinner for Baby

Christmas Dinner for Baby

Let your baby join the festivities this year by preparing them their own Christmas Dinner! This recipe is easy to follow. Great for babies starting solids.

Christmas Dinner for Baby

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium carrot (80g)
  • 1 small parsnip (90g)
  • 1 medium potato (120g)
  • 50g broccoli florets
  • 65g cooked roasted turkey or chicken, very finely chopped
  • 1 pouch Heinz Simply Pear Guava and Strawberry

Method

Step 1

Peel the carrot, parsnip and potatoes; cut into small dice. Cook in a small pan of boiling water for 10 minutes. Add the broccoli and cook for a further 5 minutes or until all the vegetables are tender.

Step 2

Drain the vegetables and return to the pan, mash until all lumps are small and soft. Add the turkey or chicken, and a squirt of Heinz Simply Pear Guava and Strawberry pouch (use instead of cranberry sauce) and stir through. Serve at room temperature or warmed.

Step 3

If your baby has just started solids (around 6 months) puree the ingredients with a stick blender until smooth. For older babies (around 10-12 months old) chop the vegetables into small pieces before cooking until soft – maybe 1 cm dice. Then your little one can either feed themselves with finger food, or you can roughly mash the ingredients and feed with a spoon.
